This unit has been mapped against the MHRA Guidance on the safe use of lasers, intense light source systems and LEDs in medical, surgical, dental and aesthetic practices.
What you will develop
- The characteristics of laser, IPL and LED radiation, and skin tissue reaction to laser, IPL and LED application
- Hazards and precautions, safety management, safe product sourcing, risk assessments, quality assurance and the legislation influencing the purchase and use of laser and light devices
- The safe working practices required to protect yourself and your clients when applying laser and light devices
Where it leads
The primary purpose of this qualification is to prepare learners to progress to further qualifications within the field of laser, IPL and LED applications — hair removal, skin rejuvenation, tattoo removal or medical applications.
It pairs naturally with our Level 3 A&P + Level 4 Laser & IPL Combined Package and the Level 5 Certificate in Laser Tattoo Removal, and it is the qualification most commonly taken alongside a professional laser or IPL machine purchase.
