Level 3

Build your foundation

Where most careers in beauty and aesthetics start. Level 3 gives you the anatomy, physiology and hands-on foundations that every advanced qualification is built on, and it is the entry requirement for almost everything at Level 4 and above.

Who it is for

People new to the industry, therapists formalising their skills, and anyone who needs a recognised Level 3 before moving up.

Entry requirements

No previous qualification is needed for most Level 3 routes. We confirm the exact requirements for your chosen course before you book.

Where it leads

Straight into Level 4 treatments such as dermaplaning, skin needling, peels, laser and IPL.

Combined pathway

No Level 3 yet? Go straight into Laser & IPL

The Level 4 Laser & IPL qualification needs Level 3 anatomy and physiology first. This pathway bundles both, so you can start from nothing and finish qualified to offer laser hair reduction and IPL skin treatments.

Level 4

Progress into advanced treatments

The level at which most clinic treatments become yours to offer commercially. Level 4 covers the advanced practical and theory needed for insurable, in-demand services, from dermaplaning and skin needling to laser, IPL, HIFU and plasma.

Who it is for

Qualified Level 3 therapists ready to add higher-value treatments, and practitioners moving into aesthetics.

Entry requirements

Usually a Level 3 in anatomy and physiology or a related beauty qualification. Requirements vary by course, so we check them with you first.

Where it leads

A commercial treatment menu, plus the route into Level 5 specialist services.

Awards and Certificates in the same treatment share the same price. A Certificate covers more units and guided learning hours than an Award. Ask us which one suits your plans.

Level 5

Develop specialist skills

Higher-level, specialist aesthetic qualifications. This is where the high-value, low-competition services sit, and where a professional clinic machine starts to pay for itself.

Who it is for

Established Level 4 practitioners who want to specialise or open a clinic-grade treatment menu.

Entry requirements

A relevant Level 4 qualification, or equivalent experience, depending on the course.

Where it leads

RF microneedling, laser tattoo removal, advanced blemish removal and advanced skin rejuvenation.

Level 6

The highest level in the range

For experienced practitioners, clinic owners and trainers who want the most advanced regulated qualifications available.

Who it is for

Experienced aesthetic practitioners with a strong Level 5 background.

A relevant Level 5 qualification and treatment experience. Confirmed with you before booking.

Buying a machine is never a requirement of any qualification. It is simply the natural next step for practitioners who decide to offer a treatment commercially.

Questions people ask before they book

Is the price the same as booking directly with Best You Training?
Yes. "Qualification Only" is the same qualification at the same price. Kits and machines are optional and simply added on top, so you are never paying more for the training itself.
Do I have to buy the kit or a machine?
No. Every product page opens on "Qualification Only". Kit and equipment options exist so you can order everything in one go if you want to, and reorder consumables later.
What is the difference between an Award, a Certificate and a Diploma?
They are all regulated VTCT Skills (ITEC) qualifications at the level shown. An Award is the shortest, a Certificate covers more units and guided learning hours, and a Diploma is the largest. Where we list both an Award and a Certificate in the same treatment, they are the same price, so choose the one that fits your plans and we will confirm the units with you.
Do I need Level 3 before I can do Level 4?
Usually, yes. Most Level 4 qualifications need a Level 3 in anatomy and physiology or a related beauty qualification. If you do not have one, the combined Laser & IPL pathway covers both, and we can advise on the right Level 3 route for other treatments.
Where and how is the training delivered?
Practical training and assessment take place at our Best You Training academies in Stoke and Swindon, with online access for theory and assessments. Dates are agreed with you after enrolment.
Can I add a machine later instead of now?
Yes. Many practitioners qualify first, build demand, then buy the machine from Best You Products when the numbers justify it. Nothing on this page locks you into equipment.
